Baybayin the Ghost Theme
introduction to the very first Ghost theme I have ever coded up. Very proud and happy that I managed to pull if off in such a quick timespan.
Ghost is a piece of software that I truly like. I've been following the progress of its evolution ever since it started as a Kickstarter campaign many years ago.
Since then I've always dabbled with the code base. Trying to understand how it all works, and which levers to pull to get the desired results. Never had the stamina or endurance though to hang in there, and really figure things out. So I let it slip away from me. Over and over. For many years.
Until this summer. We set out to create our own personal websites from scratch during the vacation period. I got a ready made design in a zip file. Within that zip file were a folder containing HTML, CSS and JavaScript files, and another folder containing a very raw and unfinished Ghost theme.
It took me 235 pull requests in GitHub before the first production ready version was complete. The code that I originally received? Long gone. Everything has been rewritten over and over. Not many traces left of the original code, that was amassed by Claude Code.
